May 23rd – Saturday Night

The Cauldron: An evening of storytelling with Cath Little and friends, at the Prichard Jones Institute, Newborough, Anglesey LL61 6SY.

Sit back and get lost in tales of times past, of cauldrons and the mysteries within. Told in a mixture of Welsh and English by storytellers from North and South Wales, get drawn into the possibilities of the Pair Dadeni, the Cauldron of Rebirth.

All the way from Cardiff, storyteller and author Cath Little will be sharing the story of ‘The Hallows Queen’, a re-imagining of the story of Peredur from the Mabinogion. We meet, among others, a wise mother, nine witches, a very angry girl and the mysterious Hallows Queen herself. This ancient British Grail legend has resonance for our times: how do we heal the wasteland?

We’ll also hear other tales of cauldrons and more from local storytellers, including Siân Miriam and Claire Mace.

Tickets in advance £8 (£6 concessions). Tickets on the door £10 (£8 concessions). More information and tickets.

May 24th – Sunday 2pm-5pm

Storytelling Workshop for Beginners, at The Old Rectory, Llanfachraeth, Anglesey LL65 4YA.

Telling stories comes naturally to humans: it’s how we’ve passed information around for thousands of years! But in these technological days, people are less confident than ever about sharing stories with others. But it’s in our bones to tell stories: we are all storytellers.

Cardiff-based Storyteller Cath Little will take you through some simple exercises that will help you take your first steps in telling a tale and in finding ways into story.

If you can, bring along a story you’d like to work with… whether a traditional story or a personal stories or a story to make sense of the world we live in.

No prior experience required!

Tickets £15 (£7.50 concessions). More information and tickets.
